What does it take to transform your dissertation into a book? Join recently published authors who have worked with major academic presses to jumpstart the process of publishing your first book. This two-part series on “Publishing Your First Book” is part of the School of Humanities Early Career Convivium.
All are welcome to this open forum on the book publishing process. Topics include understanding the difference between a dissertation and a book, identifying the right press for your book, approaching acquisitions editors, developing a compelling book prospectus, managing the revision process, negotiating the contract, and considering open access publishing.
